The Fort4Fitness 4 Mile Run/Walk took place on Saturday morning, September 26, 2009. The race was won by Mike Cole (above left), 34, of Corunna, Indiana (21:21). The women's winner was Julie Suever (above right), 30, of Van Wert, Ohio (28:50). Complete searchable results are available here.
For the second consecutive year, the Fort4Fitness races officially sold out. On Tuesday August 18, more than five weeks before race day, the 5,000 participant cap for the 2009 Fort-4-Fitness Half Marathon and 4 Mile Run/Walk was reached, selling out more than three weeks earlier than the 2008 races, which had a capacity of 3,000 participants.
Other race info:
- Same great course in 2010! The race will start in front of the historic Baker Street Station in downtown Fort Wayne, and will conclude with an exciting finish at Parkview Field. The course will take racers through historic Fort Wayne neighborhoods and past landmark churches.
- All participants who complete the course will receive a finisher's medal
- Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the following categories/age groups: Overall Open; Overall Masters (40+); 12 and Under; 13 to 19; 20 to 24; 25 to 29; 30 to 34; 35 to 39; 40 to 44; 45 to 49; 50 to 54; 55 to 59; 60 to 64; 65 to 69; 70 and over.
- Race numbers are required to participate
- You must be in good health and physically prepared to take on the challenges of the 4-Mile Run/Walk
- Dogs, in-line skates, bikes, skateboards and electronic devices will not be allowed on the course. Jogging strollers will be allowed only for the 4-Mile event.
