Timothy Kenesey
Founder and Chairman

Tim Kenesey is the Chairman of Fort4Fitness, his role since he founded the organization in 2007. Since 2001, Tim has been the CEO of MedPro Group (“MedPro”), a Berkshire Hathaway company. With a rich 120-year history, 350,000+ customers, and $2 billion in annual premium, MedPro is the world’s leading provider of healthcare professional liability coverage & risk solutions to healthcare providers. Additionally, MedPro provides liability insurance to other professionals, and offers specialized accident & health insurance solutions to colleges and other customers. Since joining Berkshire, in addition to his role at MedPro, Tim is a director of certain other Berkshire Hathaway subsidiaries and of Kraft Heinz Company. Before joining Berkshire, Tim spent time as an officer at GE Insurance and as a Global Business Development Manager at GE Healthcare. Prior to that, Tim was a member of the M&A/Corporate Finance team at global law firm Sidley Austin, and began his professional career with KPMG in both audit and tax positions. Tim holds a BBA from the University of Notre Dame and a JD from the University of Illinois, and was an CPA & attorney. He and his wife, Amy, have three daughters and three grandchildren.

Brad Altevogt
Winter Wonder Dash Chair

Brad is a native of Fort Wayne. He is owner and President of Three Rivers Running Company, Inc., Fort Wayne’s original locally owned running specialty store. The company is committed to providing products and services that enhance its customers’ experience in the areas of running, walking, triathlon and fitness.

A lifelong runner, he continues to train and compete at a variety of distances. He loves helping and advising other runners and has a passion for coaching runners of all ages. He coaches high school cross country and track in Fort Wayne.

Brad received a Bachelor’s degree from IPFW, and a Master of Public Affairs (MPA) degree from IUPUI.

Tara Cahill
Summer Sunset Relay Co-Chair

Tara is a Fort Wayne native and the Controller at STAR Financial Bank. Tara received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Ball State University and her MBA from Indiana Tech. She is also an active CPA.

Tara has enjoyed participating in the various Fort4Fitness events since their inception, as well as cheering on her friends and her community from the sidelines. She is passionate about being active and spends her spare time running and biking around the city, as well as spending time at both the Skyline and Jorgensen YMCA’s. 

Her favorite part about being a Fort Wayne native is seeing how much growth the city has seen since she was a kid, and experiencing new restaurants and attractions that are flourishing in Fort Wayne.

Mark Dely
Secretary and Merchandising Chair

Mark C. Dely is the Chief Administrative & Legal Officer, as well as the Corporate Secretary for Vera Bradley, Inc.  He oversees the legal, compliance, human resource, information technology, and distribution functions for the Company. 

Prior to joining Vera Bradley, Mark was the Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel & Secretary for Fred’s Pharmacy.  Fred’s is the fourth largest standalone pharmacy chain in the United States with over 350 pharmacy locations and almost 700 general merchandise locations.  Mark has served as the Vice President General Counsel and Secretary for ServiceMaster Clean, Furniture Medic, AmeriSpec and Merry Maids.  Previously, Mr. Dely served as the first in-house counsel for Delta and Pine Land Company (“D&PL”) a NYSE listed multinational seed and agricultural biotechnology company where he oversaw the legal operations since 2004. 

Mark is a graduate of the NYU School of Law and has a degree in Business Administration with high honor from the Michigan State University Honors College. 

Mark is married with four children and in addition to the Fort4Fitness board, he previously served as the President and on the Board of Directors of the Germantown Baseball League, a youth sports organization that provided baseball and softball leagues for over 800 boys and girls, and the Mid-South Young People’s Orchestra, a non-profit providing music education and experience for children in the greater Memphis area. 

Sarah Earls, CPA
Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair

Sarah is a Certified Public Accountant with over 10 years of accounting experience in private industry, specifically financial institutions and manufacturing, and in public accounting. In her current position, she manages the financial reporting process of various incubator companies related to the medical device sales and manufacturing industries, which includes cash management, dashboard report development, and forecasting/budgeting. She also has experience with the preparation of SEC and regulatory filings, vendor management, and the implementation and management of SOX 404.

Sarah currently serves as Treasurer of the board of Aging and In-Home Services, a member of Financial Executives International, a member of the Steering Committee of Women of YFC, and a member of the Finance Committee of Emmanuel Community Church. She enjoys traveling with her husband, Michael, and her two children, Alexander and Addison.

Sarah attended Huntington University from 2000-2003, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

Tabitha Ervin
Kids/Seniors Outreach Co-Chair

Tabitha Ervin serves as the Chief Operations Officer for the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne. She has worked in various roles with the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne in her 15 year career thus far. She enjoys working with people and influencing the lives of others. 

In addition to working for the YMCA, Tabitha has specific passion for people and youth in community which is why she volunteers her time with various organizations including Fort4Fitness as we look to serve those who have not been previously served by working on the Scholarship Committee.

Tabitha has a Bachelors degree in Public Administration/Community Development and a Masters degree in Public Administration/Public Policy and Non Profit Sector as well as a Masters in Human Services.

Brent Harring
Fall Festival Co-Chair

Brent is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and a 2007 graduate of the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse where he was a Sport Management major. Brent moved to Fort Wayne in October of 2007 just in time for the groundbreaking of Parkview Field in November of that same year. He takes a lot of pride in that facility and the great development and growth of downtown Fort Wayne since he's moved here. The first run he ever trained for was the F4F 4 mile in 2009 and he liked it so much he made it his goal to run the half marathon in 2010. He has been involved with volunteering for F4F since 2013 and can testify that side of things is even more rewarding than running the event itself! Brent enjoys supporting his Wisconsin sports teams and training for the occasional race. Brent is married to wife Melissa and the proud father of their son, Bennett.

Carla Jennings
Kids/Seniors Outreach Co-Chair

Carla is a Wife, Mother, Business Owner and Author. Carla and husband Al Jennings are Pastors of Summit Church here in Fort Wayne, which they started in 1984.  Carla has five beautiful children and three grandchildren.

Carla has been in the fitness industry for over 13 years. In 2011, after six years, she stepped away from the YMCA to pursue her business, FIT4U! LLC, which was launched in January 2012. She is a Certified Personal Trainer with American Sport & Fitness Association (ASFA).  She is also a Certified Yoga Instructor through Urban Body Yoga, which is affiliated with Baron Baptiste Yoga Institute. Carla speaks at womens events, youth functions, as well as health and fitness expos.

Carla enjoys working and helping in the community. She has spearheaded two fundraisers for two local non-profit organizations--Smith Academy for Boys and Rock Solid Foundation. Carla has a great heart for our city as well as our youth! She has also donated her time and resources to a local girls organization, Fort Wayne Girlz Rock.  
 

Greg Johnson, DO
Health, Safety, and Insurance Committee Chair

Greg Johnson, DO, joined Parkview Health in 2008 and transitioned into his role as Chief Clinical Integration Officer in 2015. He works alongside the Clinical Integration team to further develop leadership skills in efforts of better serving patients and the health system. He also practices as a Nephrologist with Parkview Physician’s Group. Prior to his current role, he served as the Chief Medical Officer for Parkview Regional Medical Center and Affiliates. Johnson has a Bachelor's Degree from Rockford College, Rockford, Ill., and a Master's Degree from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pa.

Jade Kelsey
Spring Cycle Co-Chair

In 2008, Jade Kelsey walked the inaugural Fort4Fitness Fall Festival 4 miler. Since that time, she has participated and volunteered in numerous Fall Festival and Spring Cycle events. Jade is a Fort Wayne native and earned her Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership and Supervision concentrating in Team Development from Indiana University – Purdue University Fort Wayne. As a Business Analyst at Lincoln Financial Group, Jade acts as a liaison between business operations and IT teams. She has over 12 years of experience in the financial services industry. Inside Lincoln, Jade serves on the Green Team and participates in many of the company’s community involvement and volunteer campaigns. She volunteers her time to several organizations, serving this community is very important to her. Jade is a passionate advocate for active transportation, and has attended state and national bicycle summits, lobbying congress in 2017 on behalf of bicyclists and pedestrians.

Theresa Laxton
Sponsorship Chair

Theresa is a Fort Wayne native, a Registered Nurse and graduate of University of Saint Francis. Her nursing career has been primarily in the acute care hospital setting in a variety of roles including clinical care as an emergency department nurse, nursing administration, program coordinator, and clinical education.

For the past five years, her career path has led her to serve in business development roles in post-acute care services. In her current role as the Regional Director of Marketing with American Senior Communities, she serves 14 long term care, rehabilitation, and memory care facilities in northeast Indiana for strategic business growth.

Theresa has enjoyed participating in multiple Fort4Fitness events as a volunteer over the past 10 years. She also spends her time volunteering with the Tapestry event and the Give Hear Organization.

She is married with three boys and they are at their happiest when traveling and enjoying outdoor fun.

Heather Leas
Summer Sunset Relay Co-Chair

Heather Leas is a business consultant for Parkview Employer Solutions. She has more than 12 years of event planning and marketing experience. Before moving to Fort Wayne in 2014, Heather worked for Tuxedo Brothers Event Management in Indianapolis providing registration support and event coordination for the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon, Purdue Half Marathon, Tri Indy Triathlon, and dozens of other running and triathlon events in central Indiana. Heather and a friend also started and managed Rock the Relay, a full marathon relay around White River State Park in Indianapolis. After moving to Fort Wayne, Heather worked for SCAN, Inc. serving as their Events Manager and Chief of Philanthropy. She has found her niche in the nonprofit sector professionally, but also finds passion in volunteering with organizations that bring growth and prosperity to our region including YLNI, Middle Waves Music Festival, and Fort4Fitness.

John Motz
Marketing Chair

John Motz is a continuing lecturer and Assistant Chair for the Department of Art and Design and has been teaching with Purdue University Fort Wayne since 1993. He teaches graphic design, computer art, digital imaging, senior projects, and airbrushing. Prior to his appointment as continuing lecturer in 2001, he was the Creative Director for SAAL Advertising where he conceptualized and executed print material, package and display designs, web pages and photo and video shoots. He received his B.F.A. from Indiana University in 1991 and is currently the owner and designer for MotzArt & Design. As a result of his many projects and desire to bring visual communication and design together with entrepreneurs in the community, he partners students with organizations to provide “real world” experiences for the students.

Heather Rohrbacher
Kids and Seniors Outreach

Heather Rohrbacher, a Aiken, SC native, serves as the Manager of James Medical Home Care Equipment in Fort Wayne. Heather is passionate about health and fitness. She loves running and teaches classes at Spiece Fitness and is on the board of local non-profit, Bring It-Push It-Own It. Heather and her family reside in Fort Wayne.

Chad Shirar
Volunteer Chair

Chad has extensive background in both the for-profit and not-for-profit healthcare industry. He began his career facilitating primary and secondary disease prevention programming. He then gained widespread experience in population health management of large groups to mitigate and prevent health spend in commercial, government, and fully insured clients. In addition, Chad integrated health promotion, disease management, and health behavior change into on-site/near-site clinics for employers and municipalities across the country. On board since September 2018, Chad serves as the Director of Diabetes Care Strategy at Parkview Health, identifying and orchestrating short and long-term care management innovations and strategies for the Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio regions.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Wellness from Ball State University, his Master of Science in Kinesiology and Sport Studies from Eastern Illinois University, and his MBA in Healthcare Administration from Bethel University. Chad holds certification and licensure in multiple areas, including Exercise, Nutrition, Health Coaching, and Gallup Strengths Coaching. He lives in Fort Wayne with his wife Misty and six children. 

Jenn Sylvester
Fall Festival Co-Chair

Jenn, a native of Romulus, MI, moved to Fort Wayne in 2015 for a group sales internship with the Fort Wayne TinCaps. She was hired on full-time in her current position as a Ticket Account Manager at the completion of the season. Jenn graduated from Siena Heights University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sport Management where she also played softball collegiately. She is currently pursuing an MBA at Ball State University. This will be Jenn’s second year on the Board for Fort4Fitness but she has experience with the event with her involvement at Parkview Field the last few years. Jenn enjoys cheering on the Detroit Tigers and Michigan Wolverines and exploring new cities!

Jacob Torkeo
Spring Cycle Co-Chair

Jake is an attorney in Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP’s corporate group and his practice is focused on assisting clients with a broad range of business needs, including mergers, acquisitions, and financing related matters. He is a Fort Wayne native and a graduate of Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne and Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. Athletics have always played a large role in Jake’s life. He has been a regular participant of the Fall Festival and other endurance events for years and loves chasing the next fitness goal. It is very important to Jake and his wife to support causes that help make Fort Wayne such a great place to live.
